On the left is the Artyarn scarf I'm making for Kim. I decided to do a garter/drop stitch & I really like the way it shows off the colors. Enough so that I'm going to frog & reknit Karen's Artyarn scarf (seen here in slightly better light than before). Fortunately, this will re-knit PDQ, so hitting the holiday deadline will not be an issue.
The socks are, well, socking on. Picture of those after the weekend, I think. Depends on how much (ha!) free time i have. The bookstore's exploding with customers and it's eating into my knitting time (it's every knitting bookseller's holiday dilema: complete knitting projects or make a profit? Hmmmm...) I'm starting on Kat's (not, not that Kat-that'd be a silly way to wreck a surprise) bodacious purple Manos & Something Shiny (hey, it's busy, I'm lucky I can remember my name) scarf.
For some strange reason, I just happen to have 32" cirqs in the house, leaving me to wonder what overly ambitious project I purchased them for and then apparently forgot about. At any rate, they're perfect for the scarf and this further confirms my belief that knitting purchases made with no specific project in mind will ultimately be put to use and therefore, are not a waste of money or, in the case of my somewhat bloated stash, space.
And (almost) lastly, Liz picked the green Manos for her Lace Up Gloves from Alterknits. Think I'll get bright rose-pink ribbon for the laces. Below that is the Colinette Giotto that I'm using for a quick scarf for Lydia (she's the lucky mum who's getting the Lotus Blossom shawl I started during the amazing lace). Think this'll be a garter/drop stitch as well.
And, I've just been called into work, ruining a perfectly good day of knitting. CRAP.
Tag your it read my blog if you care to play. If not Happy Yule and I love the scarves.
